The opening line of the "Rathbone Bruce Holmes" series is very good (although this movie lacks any of the qualities of ongoing work.) This movie could have been even darker and more ominous (it does have a studio like feel), and the ending was also more confrontational, but it did provide a lot of fun. The romantic scenes between Green and Barry had almost no spark, but the actors had good distracting performances, which was a bonus for this movie. Rating, 8.
